We stayed in a wonderful little cottage right on the water for three nights. It was in the Port McNeill area (which is on the Northeast side of Vancouver Island) and located on the edge of gorgeous waterfront property with this view out the kitchen windows!
We had come to the area to do several excursions and staying here was just totally the cherry on the top. I almost don't want to share it because it was so magical! We spent lots of time enjoying the changing colors/weather/tides and sunsets around our daily activities. Thanks James for such great memories.
As a bird lover it was pretty much heaven with constant ongoing wildlife coming/going depending on the tide. Loons, Sanderlings, Herons, Eagles, Harlequin Ducks, Geese, Black Turnstones as well as various boats....just so many cool things to watch!
One evening we went into Port McNeill to have yummy pizza/beer at Devils' Bath Brewing Co. Then we drove around a bit to take in some pretty sunset colors. Another night we had great takeout from Roxy's food truck - (we devoured it before I remembered to take pictures).
This is a logging area and one day we stopped to watch them move logs around with a little tugboat (used like a water forklift) to get them sorted and in place. We'd never seen anything like this before and it was fascinating.
Can't wait to complete my blogposts about the excursions...cuz Holy Cow!
