Fall Fun in Vernal, Utah

We loved spending a few days with Lance & Melinda Dean. We laughed, ate, took beautiful drives through Fall colors, did some off-roading and even got in a hike. Jordan & Lance were classmates in a study group which helped them survive BYU Law school. Lance now manages the public defenders in Vernal and Melinda has her own business out of their house - Screen Dr.

It was so fun to catch up on all the things that have happened in our lives since then!

On our way there from Ogden we decided to take a new route and went through Flaming Gorge. The yellow/golds were stunning the entire way and we enjoyed stopping for a few cows that decided to cross the highway in front of us. After arriving we checked into the Vernal KOA which worked out great.

Our first full day we hopped into their truck and drove the Red Cloud/Dry Fork Scenic Byway. It started with a stop to hike up to some petroglyphs and then up up up to wonderful trees/views and yes even a pretty solid snow storm. It felt like we got three seasons in one drive!

The next day we headed out, with Melinda at the wheel showing off her off-road skills, to do some hiking in Red Fleet State Park which is one of their favorite places to go. Even though the water level was incredibly low it was beautiful as we walked through many of the areas they love to canoe in.

Here's some cool shots that Jordan took which his 360 camera.

We can't wait for our next adventures with these two....

The one through the hole in the rock was pretty cool, right? I like that the Insta360 automatically edits out the selfie stick and also lets me decide where to "look" and how much to zoom afterwards on my phone.
