This post is about our adventures together with our daughter Kim who came to visit. Filled with hiking, eating yummy food in Old Town, putting our feet in the water, searching for pretty shells, trying 20 year old tawny port, ordering fresh fish from the fish case, wandering cobblestone streets & beaches, kayaking, laughing, tons of walking. Also adventures on West Coast in this post after the bajillion pictures!
We soaked up every minute and took so many pictures it's crazy....here's one where she's grabbing my camera to get me to stop!! We took her to some of our favorite spots in Lagos. See this post for those recommendations.
Scenic Drive
One day we drove back out to the West Coast and explored the scenic loop named Estrada da Praia. The dirt road takes you along 10 different viewpoints indicated by letters ranging from A to J and is filled with surfing beaches, crashing huge waves, dark cliffs, blue blue water and lots of wildflowers. We loved it!
Positano
We spent a day walking along the beach and then up onto the cliffs for gorgeous views and relaxing.
Kayaking Through Caves
Our last full day was perfect for kayaking with calm clear water and warm sun as we explored along the base of the Lagos cliffs and into various caves.
The Western Surfing Towns
After dropping her back off at the Lisbon airport we took a meandering route back to Lagos (instead of the toll road all the way) near the coast and stopped a few times, along the surfing villages, for what started as a misty morning and ended up being sunny.
So fun to have Kim there for a week. She is a beautiful blend of the two of you in her appearance. When I look at the photos of her I see both of you. Lucky girl.
The day in the kayaks looked so lovely. The colors of the boats, the sky and water and cliffs. Just amazing. And as always beautiful birds and food!
