Enjoying Fall in Portland

We loved spending some time with Kim, Brian, Kevin/Heidi and Luna in this great city.

Forest Park Ridge Trail

Hanging out at Laurelhurst Park near Kim's place:

One rainy day we visited a beautiful little winery that's owned by friends of Kevin/Heidi. Kristin Hill Winery is in Amity, Oregon and they make a variety of really wonderful wines. It was the perfect day to sample, wander and learn more about their grapes.

Then we sampled some scrumptious whiskey at Branch Point Distillery as we enjoyed their outside covered patio.

We really enjoyed staying at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort this time which is located in Troutdale. It's surrounded by parks, easy access to the hiking in the Columbia River Gorge and of course the Sandy River. One day I enjoyed paddling around in my raft and another day I sat on a rock and watched the rain fall on the water as the sun set. The Fall colors were just starting to peek out on some trees.

We did some hiking in Forest park as well as in the Gorge where we hiked Angel's Rest which offered incredible views from the exposed bluff.

In the evenings we were able to walk through Mt. Tabor (one of our favorite parks), eat good food and even visit the lovely Japanese Garden.
