We decided to park the RV in Arizona for the winter months and have been spending it here in Portland enjoying time with Brian, Kim, Kevin & Heidi (my brother/his wife).
For Kevin's birthday, Heidi fixed up a pure German Birthday bash and made yummy Rouladen which I hadn't had in years. We also mixed up a batch of homemade lebkuchen to celebrate the holiday.
There are so many beautiful parks and places to take walks here. One of our favorites (and closest to our Airbnb) is Mt Tabor. It was fun to see it all covered in snow during a storm in January.
One weekend Kevin/Heidi/Kim and I went to Kristin Hill Winery to help out. It was a full day of work, but lots of fun to participate in the process of bottling (as well as tasting) their scrumptious wines.
We've had fun exploring a variety of places to hike as there are lot of big parks and trail systems throughout the city. It was cool to tour the Pittock Mansion when they had it all decorated for the holidays.
We had a party to celebrate how much we adore Kev/Heidi's sweet Bella. She has been diagnosed with Lymphoma and at age 14 it's really progressing quickly. I've been soaking up the times I can sit on the kitchen floor and just love on her during our visits.
Around Brian's busy law school schedule and Kim's new fulltime position (as a Brand Designer with an agency here in Portland) we also celebrated Kim's Big Brain Birthday, enjoyed Cannon Beach area, played VR & board games, did a cool Heidi Pinot Noir wine tasting and ate lots and lots of fantastic food together.
We're soaking up our last couple of weeks and have LOVED being close enough to regularly spend time hanging out and enjoying each other's company.
I just took a half hour to read the text and blow up the photos and scroll through them. What a wonderful time you have had there! And as always, so stunning photos. I loved the vertical forest shot with the curving, shining path so much. Also the one of the two of you on a beach. Several other landscapes with incredible cloud formations. Very nice compositions on those. And I loved the family photos around the table and celebrating. And I always enjoy seeing dogs being loved and adored as they should be. Lovely. We are looking forward to your arrival in May!
Great shots as always. Was fun having you guys here for the winter!
