For a few days we biked and walked portions of the Galloping Goose trail, on Vancouver Island, which follows a former railway line from Victoria to Sooke, about 26 miles each way. It goes through forests, neighborhoods, along waterways, over some amazing bridges and through various parks. The trial We loved the trestle bridges we crossed!
The great thing about this trail was we could break it up into multiple shorter portions. One day I rented an e-bike from Oak Bay Bicycles and we rode further which was fun.
Here's a Google Map showing the entire route.
One of the best biking paths we discovered on the island.
